Service Description

The PADI Junior Open Water + Guardian Course certifies your child while you dive alongside them. It is built for parents who already dive and want to share the experience rather than watch from the boat. BEFORE YOU BOOK Your child must be aged 10 to 14. The accompanying parent or guardian must already be a certified PADI Open Water Diver or higher. You will be in the water for the training and the dives, not watching from the surface. If you are not certified yet, book your own PADI Open Water course alongside this one. The two courses run and are priced separately. Your child completes the PADI eLearning at home before you travel, so the time here is spent in the water rather than working through theory. Our team is on hand for any questions along the way. DAY 1 Check in at 8:30 AM and meet your instructor. We keep junior classes small and usually private, so it is just you and your child. The morning is pool training. After a short break for lunch you board our boat at 1 PM for the first two training dives, covering the essential underwater and surface skills. The day ends around 4:30 PM. DAY 2 Ages 10 and 11 start at 12:30 PM. Ages 12 to 14 start at 8:00 AM, which allows for deeper dives. Either way your child completes dives 3 and 4 and the skills needed to qualify as a PADI Junior Open Water Diver. Your child then joins the small number of young people worldwide who are certified divers. Worth remembering as well: a PADI Open Water certification can earn college credit, so keep it in mind when applications come around. We include scuba and snorkeling gear, wetsuits, bottled water, seasonal fruits, granola bars, and all taxes and fees. Exclusions are transportation to our dive shop, gratuities, photo and video packages, and souvenirs.
