Manta Divers Cancun is thrilled to offer the PADI Junior Open Water + Guardian Course, a fantastic opportunity for parents to dive with their kids. If you're a certified Open Water diver or higher, this is the perfect chance to spend quality time with your children while they explore the wonders of the underwater world and acquire the skills to dive, all while completing the PADI Junior Open Water course. The Junior Open Water divers begin their journey with home study eLearning, which is completed before arriving in Cancun. This approach allows us to maximize the time spent in the water instead of hitting the books. The eLearning course is the full PADI package, featuring interactive study materials. Our team is readily available to assist your junior diver with any questions they may have along the way. On the first day, the adventure kicks off at 8:30 AM with check-in and an introduction to their instructor. This initial meeting provides a golden opportunity for your junior open water student to ask questions and get acquainted with their instructor. We take pride in keeping our junior classes small and private, usually with just you and you child. You will be expected to participate in the class and the dives. The practical training begins immediately, with pool training in the morning. After a short break for lunch and restroom visits, we prepare to board the boat by 1 PM and head out for the first two training dives, which encompass essential underwater and surface skills. Typically, day one concludes around 4:30 PM. Day two starts at 12:30 PM for ages 10 and 11 as they gear up and head straight onto the boat for dives 3 and 4. During these dives, they will master the skills necessary to become a Junior Open Water Diver. For ages 13 and 14, the start time is 8 AM, allowing for deeper water dives at the Cancun point. Your child is now among the select few in the world who have earned the title of a certified scuba diver. It's worth noting that becoming a PADI Open Water Diver even comes with college credit, so keep that in mind when filling out those applications in the future. Manta Divers always has you covered with inclusions like scuba and snorkeling gear, wetsuits, bottled water, seasonal fruits, granola bars, and all taxes and fees.
