Pancho - Head of Security

Hola amigos! My name is Pancho, and I’m the Head of Security here at Manta Divers. You’ll usually find me chilling by the marina, keeping a close eye on the water and making sure no one sneaks in without a smile. I may have lots of teeth, but don’t worry - I use them mostly for grinning at divers heading out for adventure.

When I’m not on patrol, I like to sunbathe, watch the boats, and occasionally photobomb the staff. The team says I’m the oldest and toughest employee, and they’re probably right. So remember - while the instructors keep you safe underwater, I’m here on land making sure everything is under control. Bienvenidos to Manta Divers - you’re in safe (and scaly) hands

Maria - The Boss - Head of Operations

Hola! I’m Maria, originally from Veracruz, but Cancún has been my home for many years now. At Manta Divers, I’m the one making sure everything behind the scenes runs smoothly - from organizing schedules to keeping the team and guests happy.

They say I’m the person who makes everything happen, and I like to think that’s true. Whether it’s creating new ways to make your dive day easier, designing fun touches for the shop, or just adding a little spark of creativity, I love putting my heart into the details.

Manta Divers isn’t just a dive shop - it’s a family, and I’m proud to be part of building an experience that makes guests feel at home the moment they walk through the door.

Vencente - Lead Cavern Guide PADI OWSI

Before many of us even took our first breath, Vicente was already taking his first underwater. A true legend of the Mayan Riviera dive community, he’s been guiding and teaching since before most of us were born.

Famous for his passion, patience, and skill, Vicente has logged more dives than the rest of our team combined - and that’s no exaggeration. From reef diving to technical cave exploration, he brings unmatched experience and a deep love for the underwater world.

We’re lucky to have him on the Manta team, and you’ll be lucky too if you get to dive alongside him. With Vicente, every dive is not just safe - it’s unforgettable

Danny - Instructor PADI

Hi, my name is Danny. Born in Veracruz but living my whole life in cancun. I started diving 15 years ago. 10 of them as a diving instructor. Diving is a passion for me and that passion has taken me to different places. From the warm water of the Mexican Caribean to the calm and clear water of the Cayman Islands, Honduras, Cuba, Dominican Republic and Panama to the cold waters of the Pacific in Catalina Island in California. Now i have the pleassure to dive in Cancun, Isla Mujeres, Puerto Morelos and Cozumel. Sharing my passion with you..! the ones that make possible that i can live my deeam.

Alan - Instructor PADI OWSI

Most people think about slowing down at 70… not Alan. One morning he woke up, decided he wanted to teach diving, packed his bags, and moved to Cancún. Simple as that.

Now he’s living proof that it’s never too late to chase a dream. Alan brings patience, wisdom, and plenty of good stories to every class he teaches. Whether you’re a first-time diver or brushing up your skills, he’ll remind you that age is just a number - and underwater, everyone feels 20 again.

Moctazume - Instructor PADI OWSI

A student of Vicente and a true world traveler, Moctezuma brings both skill and adventure to every dive. We’re lucky enough to have him as part of the Manta family for half the year - the other half he’s off teaching, exploring, and sharing his passion for diving around the globe.

When he’s here in Cancún, you’ll find him guiding with the same dedication and care he’s known for worldwide. Whether he’s leading a reef dive or helping a new student take their first breaths underwater, Moctezuma proves that diving isn’t just a job - it’s a lifelong journey.

Rubin - Guide and Adventure Coordinator

Hey there, I’m Rubin, the resident nurse shark and Pancho’s right-hand fin. While Pancho handles things on land, I patrol the blue. I may look tough, but don’t let my resting-shark-face fool you - I’m all about keeping the vibes chill and the reef safe.

You’ll usually find me gliding slowly around the reef, checking in on divers and making sure the fish behave. Think of me as the underwater bodyguard: calm, watchful, and always nearby. If you see me on your dive, just give a wave - I’m part of the Manta Divers family too!

Miguel - Captian of the Boats

When Stafford first came to Mexico, Miguel was one of the very first people he met - and it didn’t take long to see why he was the most sought-after dive captain in Mayan Rivera.

Miguel has an incredible gift: no matter how many divers are in the water, he always knows exactly where each one is. That level of care and attention has earned him respect not just at Manta Divers, but across the whole dive community.

In Mexico, the word “Señor” is used for people who have truly earned respect in their profession - and Miguel is definitely that. Calm, sharp-eyed, and endlessly reliable, he’s the kind of captain every diver wants watching over them.

Martine - Boat Mate & All-Around Crew Hero

From filling tanks to guiding snorkeling tours, Martín is the one making sure everything runs smoothly on the water. He’s the first to lend a hand, the guy hauling the heavy gear, and the smiling face helping guests in and out of the boat.

Martín does all the heavy lifting so you can just focus on enjoying the ocean. Whether he’s on deck or in the water, he’s always looking out for our divers and snorkelers - making sure everyone feels safe, comfortable, and ready for adventure

Stafford - Chief Problem-Solver & Storyteller

Hey, I’m Stafford. I took over Manta Divers in 2020 and since then I’ve been doing a little bit of everything - teaching, fixing boats, filling tanks, and occasionally telling bad jokes to keep the crew smiling.

People say I run the shop, but honestly, Pancho (our Head of Security crocodile) and Rubin (our Nurse Shark enforcer) know who’s really in charge Maria. My job? Making sure you have the safest, most fun time possible while we explore reefs, wrecks, cenotes, and the underwater museum.

At heart, I’m just a diver who never wanted to leave the water — so I built a life around it. Come dive with us, and you’ll see why I say the best office in the world is 60 feet under the sea.
