Service Description

Dive the cenotes, the freshwater caverns and underground rivers that run beneath the Yucatan, on a two tank trip from Cancun. Check in at our dive shop at 8:30 AM. We drive south together and you are back at the shop by around 3:00 PM. You and your guide choose which cenotes to dive on the day. The peninsula holds a vast network of them, each with its own character, and the right choice depends on conditions and on what you want from the day. Both dives are cavern dives, not cave dives. That means you stay inside the natural light zone with a clear, direct route to the surface at all times. You need no cave certification, and you are never in the dark. What you do get is remarkable: shafts of sunlight cutting down through the water, rock formations millions of years old, and freshwater visibility unlike anything in the ocean. WHO CAN JOIN This trip is for certified divers. No cavern or cave qualification is needed, but you should be comfortable in the water and in control of your buoyancy, since the formations are fragile and easily damaged. If you are recently certified or have not dived for a while, our Refresh program the day before is a good idea. Everything is included in the price: return transport from our dive shop to the cenotes, cenote entrance fees, all scuba gear, wetsuit, bottled water, seasonal fruits, granola bars, and all taxes and fees. You will only want money for gratuities, photos or souvenirs.
