PADI Enriched Air Nitrox - Cancun
More dive time - less fatigue
Service Description
Enriched Air Nitrox, often referred to as nitrox, is a specialized breathing gas used in SCUBA diving. Unlike regular air, which is composed of 21% oxygen and 79% nitrogen, nitrox contains a higher percentage of oxygen, typically ranging from 22% to 40%. This increased oxygen content offers several benefits for divers, making it a popular choice in the diving community. Benefits of Enriched Air Nitrox: Longer Bottom Times: Nitrox allows divers to extend their dive times by reducing the amount of nitrogen absorbed in the body. This means they can stay underwater for more extended periods without reaching their no-decompression limits. Shorter Surface Intervals: Divers using nitrox absorb less nitrogen during their dives compared to those using regular air. As a result, they require shorter surface intervals between dives, allowing for more efficient and enjoyable multi-dive trips. Longer Repetitive Dive Times: Nitrox is particularly advantageous for divers who plan multiple dives in a single day. It enables longer allowable bottom times on repetitive dives because the diver has absorbed less nitrogen. Reduced Post-Dive Fatigue: While not scientifically proven, many divers report feeling less tired after using nitrox compared to regular air. The reduced nitrogen absorption may contribute to reduced post-dive exhaustion. Enhanced Safety: Nitrox can increase safety margins by reducing the risk of decompression sickness, also known as "The Bends." Decompression sickness occurs when rapid decompression leads to the formation of nitrogen bubbles in the body's tissues. Nitrox, with its lower nitrogen content, reduces this risk, making dives safer. Enriched Air Nitrox Training: Divers interested in using nitrox must undergo training to do so safely. Completing a program like the PADI Enriched Air Nitrox course is essential. This training teaches divers how to plan and dive with nitrox mixtures containing up to 40% oxygen. Training includes: eLearning on the PADI app. Divers will learn about nitrox theory and principles. Completing much of the course online, at their own pace. Practical Instruction: An instructor will teach you how to use and understand gas analyzer, gas oxygen content analysis, cylinder marking, fill log, and dive computer adjustments. Enriched Air Nitrox training is quick to complete and highly recommended for those who want to enjoy the benefits of nitrox while ensuring their safety underwater.
